A specially requested design of hard casters using the highest grade material. Also, includes the latest technology of adding an intelligent braking system that reduces chair from gliding too far away upon the user standing.
Not only that, they are the with quiet roll and roll away resistance technology that fit all versions of Aerons, Embody, Celle, Sayl, Mirra, etc
The casters are deemed to the easiest broken part, especially for the original hard casters.
The hard casters sold by Herman Miller are observed in our experience to wear out badly, very easily. Indeed it was and was said to be due to our climate. Even the local distributor no longer offer them and reckon that users should stick to carpet casters even on hard floor. Thus, as requested and after searching, we had switched to a new producer that promises much better longevity. We were told that the easily worn casters that we used to order are made in a factory in China.
There’s a risk of the wheels scratching the floor as the casters break. Below are some photos of the original Herman Miller hard casters broken within the first few years.
Most compatible hard casters sold anywhere will have the same issue as most are produced by the same manufacturing companies in China, using the same cheaper recycled material.
The ones that we carry here, are fully engineered to fit the Herman Miller chairs perfectly. They are made in Germany, made by a company that does nothing but only specialise in manufacturing casters. Specifically requested to be made with first-grade material that is of the most durable, regarded to last much longer and are more stable. They cost almost FIFTY times more than typical China-made casters.
Reduce scratching the floor.
The hard casters are made to reduce scratching the floor. Particularly vinyl, laminates, wooden floors and other softer flooring.
The casters have a polyethene coating, so there’s a softer cushion as the wheels roll.
All hard floors are supposed to use only hard floor casters.
These wheels can also roll on carpet and are versatile for any flooring.
Extra quiet and stable
The manufacturer invented a new metal stem with double securing rings to make the chair quieter. They have also redesigned the metal stem that connects the caster to the chair. It is now shorter and more stable.
Less likely to stain the floor
The wheels are made of a new material, engineered in Germany. Which make it much more unlikely to leave any stains on the floor.
The manufacturer revamped the design and included an internal braking system which makes the chair less likely to glide too far away when the user stands up. When no one is seated on the chair, there will be some friction to prevent the wheels from rolling too much. When the user sits, the chair will regain its full mobility. This design won international industrial awards and is patented.
Mirra® 2 Chair
Caper® Multipurpose Chair
and other office ranges using the same casters
We also found out that they work with Steelcase® Think chair and Vitra® office chairs. Which suggest that they are probably compatible with their other range as long as it fits.
You can pull out the caster of your chair, take a photo and send it to us for advice.
How to replace?
To make sure that the casters last longer. Do not allow the casters to have contact with aggressive floor cleaning agents or have excessive sunlight exposure.
All casters are protected by a three years warranty
